You take the bends like you built the roadToday while I was engaged in endless boring filing I decided it would be basically the coolest thing ever to make a mix cd of songs that reference Oscar Wilde. I guess the use of CDs to attract mates only works for certain people. If you ask me, mixes are far better for driving.

This is a list of sources that Morrissey stole for Smiths and solo songs. There's some Wilde stuff there, although some of it seems a bit stretchy.

Oh yes, I've seen this site before, though I'm not entirely sure all the supposed references on it seem likely- but if even some of them are likely, it makes me decidedly impressed with Morrissey's general coolnes/ source material.

Dyanne protests that my pre-post quote does not match my entry, so I have promised clarification, because really it does match, if only in my head! "I raise my eyebrows and grip the dashboard/ you take the bends like you built the road" (from "The Perfect Crime", Lucksmiths)is a lyric that reminds me of being driven home- and I was first thinking of how many oscar wilde referencing songs there are when I was riding home with seth and nick the other night.
