Edit:: My mom and I did not fight when I told her I was leaving; I slightly wish I had made the move in date sooner knowing that she's fine with me leaving, but I have to get things taken care of too. I prob wouldn't be ready earlier. I'm shocked we didn't fight about me leaving. I mentioned it once before and she completely screamed at me and said

Sorry to hear about all the upset and the loss of your dog.

You are worried that your mother is going to be upset when she finds out you have obtained an apartment and it will lead to a big row. Would you have had an argument about it if you had of told her beforehand? If so then you have successfully delayed it and allowed yourself time to deal with the other stressors in your life.

Christine, christine, christine....this sounds so very familiar! When I moved out of my dads house, I did it secretly as well. I dont know your situation but my dad had already mentioned my moving out so I took it upon myself to do so. If youre uncomfortable in your own home, you should move. You have to do whats best for you. Even if it hurts her now just know that youre doing the right thing because it'll be best for you in the long run and in time I think she will understand. My dad and I have a much better relationship now that I dont live at home.

Also, a side note, to lighten things up. Im moving into my new apartment in Stoneybrooke and OUT of the Landings on that same day! haha. We might just cross paths on moving day!! Good luck! I know everything will work out. Sorry for the novel!

Sept 20 is a popular day for moving; one of my coworkers is moving too. lol.
