Oh, Japan.

Why on earth, why did you decide to have a triple whammy disaster while I was on vacation?

When exactly are you supposed to go to Japan? Perhaps until then Fukushima Daiichi is under control - I really believe they can make it!

Whenever I get my visa, which could be as early as 2 weeks. As long as the plant is under control, I have no problem going!

Email Interac and ask about options for getting to your city or training site. They paid for my initial trip out to Kamaishi; they may be able to help you out with getting to Aomori.

I can also tell you that you're working for a company that will care about you and take care of you. They've been wonderful to me in this crisis.
