Moss Beach

nakednsf , kitchenbeard and I took a drive down to Moss Beach on Saturday afternoon to explore the tidepools at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve a truly amazing place.

Tom and I came upon this place during our New Year's weekend in Half Moon Bay, and we thought we had such a GREAT idea, to drive back down the coast for the lowest low tide of the month (almost 2 feet ( Read more... )

No, didn't go that far. But we saw lots of Harbor Seals!

Thankfully the stupid people were few and far between.

My favorite things about the day:

- The amazing sea life
- The sunset as we ate dinner outside, on the ocean, in January
- You using and playing with your camera (and getting such amazing shots!)

I can't wait to find more places to explore!!

I would have enjoyed being with you...back in 2000 I went to some tidepools on the Oregon coast. I love them!

looked at all of the set on flickr - holy COW the crowd!! they should sort of limit that it seems...?

beautiful place though - of course i want to go!!

Yeah they probably should. But they had a slew of docents there to keep a watchful eye. They seemed to be pretty liberal about people touching and picking up animals, as long as they didnt harm them or remove them from the reserve, or go near the Harbor Seals that were out on the farthest ledges of the tidepools. Apparently people DO hike all the way out there expecting to pet them or something. Morons.

Next time you visit--we are so there.
