I haven't always preferred silence. I used to cut it with any question that popped into my mind. I had a lot of questions. But it's different now. I guess I'm no longer afraid of where my thoughts may lead me in the silence. I've come to grips with my own wierdness, I guess

The way you lead into the idea of silence versus conversation reminded me of a Jon Brion song. "You gotta hope that there's someone for you as strange as you are, who can cope with the things that you do without trying too hard."
