I know that most of us all of us are hoping that everything's going to go well at the ball tonight, but for anyone feeling a little nervous about walking into the figurative lion's den empty handed, I have a few little things prepared to properly arm accessorise anyone who wants them.

Well since it's best to disguise any kind of weapon as something harmless and multi-purposeful, how do you feel about carrying around a fan? The paper screen will hide the fact that I managed to sharpen all the spines, and I made the hinge brittle on purpose so if trouble starts you can break it apart and have half a dozen small knives to hand out to anyone who needs one. They're only made of wood, but they'll be sharp enough that hopefully it'll make potential enemies think twice.

Something like that wouldn't be over the top, would it? If so, I had a fair bit of fun making it anyway.

Also, I've got a number of hairpins that shouldn’t look too suspicious even though you definitely wouldn’t want to get stuck with one. If enough of us wear them, maybe we’ll even start out own fashion trend!

Oh wow! Very impressive.

Those both sound very great. Very inconspicuous as well. I'd love to use the fan, and the way I was thinking of doing my hair would require some hairpins anyway so I'll use some of those and see what I can do about distributing them; it'd certainly make a message!

To be honest, I didn’t actually have time for anything specific for myself. The fan took me longer than expected since I don’t usually have an opportunity to do fine woodwork with my sword, and I wanted to make sure it looked good enough to pass inspection.

I'll be wearing a couple of pins, of course, since I expect there'll be a few complaints about them being too feminine for any other guy who wants something. I don’t have a problem with that myself, though my hair’s not quite long enough to do much with.
