Then that says a lot about you, considering that I can still kill you without releasing my power.

I didn't release all of mine.

So Ophelia was telling the truth? There are Awakened beings in the forest?

This time she is. They are three who had achieved the rank of number one, and then released too much of their power and "awakened."

They were strong enough that the organization did not attempt to slay them. I would not think that the combined efforts of Ophelia and the other single digit here would be strong enough to defeat any of them.

A whole organization fears them as a group, or one at a time?

They do not work together. The organization fears each of them, individually.

But they're just humans. Altered humans, but you're all still human, right?

Not quite. There are limits to our power. If we release too much, our yoma half takes control, and we are no longer the same. Ones who do that are referred to as "awakened beings." And the three most powerful are the Abyssal Ones.

Ah... thank you, Teresa.

They really are all here, aren't they?

Of course, Clare.

...Yes. But just as in our own world, I doubt they will act rashly.

I hope so... this place is too small for the battle that would become.

They may be awakened beings, but they are not without rational thought. At least, two of them are not.
