Sweet But Forgetable....

"American Idol" rocks. I've completely been sucked in this season and I can't say it enough. I am enamored with this show. I'm also enamored with TiVo & the knock off products (such as my DVR) because it allows me to stay up-to-date with the glorious "Idol" and yet I don't have to sit at home and not do anything else until after the show. Amazing. ( Read more... )

I don't really watch American Idol, but I hear the updates and clips on the radio. Listening to everyone complain about Sanjaya is my favorite part of this season. Although I feel like I don't really know any other contestent, because he is all they talk about ( ... )

I watched a bit of "The View" I think it was yesterday morning and the girl who's Howard Stern's girlfriend was the guest cohost. She was saying that she and Howard currently having their second fight (the first was about her getting a massage by a man not a woman, in case anyone cares) but anyways, their second fight is because he's encouraging his listeners and fans to call and actually VOTE for Sanjaya. She said she doesn't think that's fair, that it's mocking him because the poor kid's not nearly as talented as everyone else that's on the show and Howard's contributing to him thinking he's good when really he's not. That made me unhappy. As do the stupid people who call and vote because they think that the contestant's hot. That's not the point of the show!! It's a SINGING COMPETITION (as Simon says regularly to people) so that's how you should vote. For whoever has the best SINGING performance ( ... )

See, I've changed my opinion of American Idol. I no longer feel it is a singing competition, but a combination of a "popularity contest" and a "which contestant will lead to the most gossip/attention" show.

I called twice, but alas you didn't answer. Will I see you at Jackie's show tonight? If so, I can talk to you then. If not, I shall try calling, yet again!

Later dude!

I was eating with mommy the first time you called and I think I was at church the second time...and I didn't call you back because I'm horrible about returning calls. (Which is definately NOT news to you ;o) )

Yes I'll be around tonight.

I think I actually going to boycott them for a while. I'm thinking a 6 month ban on men. Because all they do is upset me and make me feel unpretty and stupid. So F 'em. AND, I'm all about getting gussied up and hitting the town.

And yes, you should be seeing me tomorrow night...hopefully. I work til 9:30ish or so....and Saturday. I'm sorta hoping that if you were asked to bring a "hot girl brigade" that means there will be hot boys around. Not that anyone that lives on that side of town is convinient for me to start anything with, but it's nice to hope....

I love this comment. You talk about a 6 month ban on men. Then you imediately follow it up with talking about getting gussied up to patrol for guys, as well as hoping that their will be hot boys at Jackie's show on Saturday.

Anyone else want to start placing bets on how long Sarah's Man Ban will last? :0)

Just because I'm all about getting gussied up and patrolling for men or enjoying hot boy eye candy doesn't mean I'm violating the Man Ban. Ever hear of "look but don't touch" ?? And, just cuz I get all pretty or there are attractive guys around doesn't mean it's worthy of breaking the Ban.

My bet's 6 months. At the earliest.

I actually like Sanjaya, and don't tell me American Idol has nothing to do with looks...I mean, Britney Spears was a pop star and all she could do was look good and shake her ass.

Being an American Idol is about the total package...which is why that fat kid with the curls is not going to last much longer.

I think Sanjaya's got about as much talent as the best singer in your high school choir. And, in fact, I think the best singer of my high school choir had more talent than him.

And yes, I do agree that it is about the whole package. And he definitely does NOT have it. He's so boring on stage and he forgets words!! You can't tell me that he's got stage presence when he can't even remember lyrics to the song he's singing!

And I like the fat kid with curls. :o/ He's fun. I vote for him.

I dunno, if you watched from the beginning you just fall in love with the squirrely guy! Besides, EVERY season has that loveable underdog that everyone thinks is going to take home the entire thing. Lets see there was Constantine in season 4 and that dorky red-headed guy that sang all the Rick Astley tunes (season 3?).

The truth is, after a few weeks, when the boring people have been weeded out, they will be gone too. Yes it sucks for the more talented people, but let that be a lesson in gaining charisma!!

I've watched from the beginning...and I still hate Sanjaya. Ugh. But after last night, my beloved fat kid with curls is gone. :o( It's ok, I knew he'd go because aside from Sucky Sanjaya he had the worst performance on Tuesday. I harbor no hard feelings.

And I can't help but think that Sanjaya's almost popular like William Hung, only it's on a whole other level...he's made it through the rounds and keeps going despite his no-talentedness.

I'm still being bitter about boys with you. Maybe this happens to us because we are both hot, but can have that bitchy side to us if someone pushes our buttons the wrong way. They must be way intimidated and also very stupid.

I find that, as a whole, guys generally fall into the "stupid" category.

smilinsari March 29 2007, 12:42:55 UTC
I think that the intimidation thing is totally true. I can't imagine what it must be like for a man to be with someone who actually speaks her mind. You'd think that'd be what they want, but apparently not.

And yes, incredibly stupid. I think we're both fairly understanding individuals and at the start of this scenario we'd probably have let certain explanations slide, but at this point, you've got to be f'ing kidding. There's absolutely no excuse for this. Plus, we're hot. Like either stupid man is going to find someone like us to be with. Idiots.

Your both right. Both of the guys you have been dealing with are two of the dumbest guys I've ever heard of. Both of you are great catches, fun to be with, and don't start drama with your guys. I should actually learn from you and apply it to my own relationship. But that is another story :0) In conclusion: We need to find you both some men who will appreciate you guys! (And Jackie applies in all of these comments as well. I'm just not sure on her current dating status since I haven't had an update in over a week!)

Damn, I was just a huge comment whore. I commented on every single thread up there! You all better just be at Jackie's show tonight so that I can just talk and hang out with you, rather than doing such via LJ comment :0)

Avoiding all responsibility is 100% correct. I've had a damn busy week already; I worked 11.5 hours yesterday! If only I got paid overtime...

You're wasting no time re-commenting! You're insane. I bet this afternoon you'll be curled up under your desk taking a little nap, ala George Costanza. Ha
