Barney, I recently have contracted a doctor of performance student at Stony Brook university to teach me classical guitar. I am on my fourth lesson with this fellow: I'll be having it tomorrow at 12:30. I've noticed that learning to play classical guitar is very different from electric, or even acoustic. When you learn classical guitar, they start you off right away picking with your fingers, and it seems like everything is geared at being as natural as possible, as comfortable as possible. I didn't know there was an English folk music revival, and its too bad the music is in vinyl form, because I'd like to hear a sample and see what these people did with their instruments, so as to have a point of comparison with what I'm learning about.
