Dream [01]
There was no cold, and no wind. It wasn't really warm or sunny, either, but it was bright. The setting was a frozen lake, or a frozen ocean, or something covered in a sheet of ice...vast, expansive, and thin. In the very center was a small, circular patch of green. There were a few scattered wildflowers, but most of it was grass, sitting atop the ice.
The ice was melting, but the girl lying in the miniature meadow didn't notice...or didn't care. She was wearing a school uniform of some sort, and was lying with her arms behind her head, staring up at the bright blue sky. Small crackling and popping sounds began in various places on the iced-over body of water, but the brown-haired girl didn't look up. Instead, she rolled over on her stomach, her legs up in the air behind her, and began plucking out the blades of grass, one by one.
One. Crack. Two. Crack. Three...
She sighed, glancing up. There was no sun, but the ice was melting, and soon she'd be underwater. She didn't notice, though, or didn't care, because she was on her own safe patch of green.
[Haruhi wakes up slowly, her expression changing to one of irritated confusion. She casts the Dreamberry an irate look before dropping it again.]
Stupid.
