Well, I have two theories. The first is that there's a journal in the sub-basement where the Rift is; from all our previous examinations, it didn't look like it was tied into the Chicago journal network, but we never did work out anything about it. Trying to remove it from the sub-basement just wound up teleporting it back down there.
The second is that Mercury has been experimenting with cognitive shells accessing the Journal network. I have no idea why one would masquerade as the Tower, but I'll check on it anyway. And I'll ask Owen and Mio if they know anything.
Yes, it did. Where a name ordinarily is, it said Kashtta Tower instead.
So at the moment our theories are either the Tower is somehow using a journal in the subbasement to attempt to communicate or someone's pretending to be the Tower.
Right.
I'd like to pretend that I'm surprised that nothing makes sense, but this is Chicago.
Either one of those possibilities, and commenting on kittens.
You know, one day maybe we'll find a place for the Wanderer to stay that doesn't have never-ending hallways or gateways to Narnia, but I'm beginning to doubt it.

Yeah. I don't know why that was necessary to communicate.
I think you're asking for too much there, Jack.

Could someone even successfully pretend to be the Tower? How on earth would that name show up on the journals unless...
Yeah, I got nothing.

Apparently, someone's been working on how to something like that, but I don't know why anyone would pretend to be the Tower.
I didn't think you would, but I wanted to keep you informed even when I'm not quite certain what I'm informing you of.

I appreciate being informed, even when there's uncertainty when it comes to the information.
Must've been one hell of a surprise. Keep me posted, yeah?
