Nope. Sever the spine and you'll kill him, small doses of aconite are suppose to help suppress the symptoms of it, it will trigger the bodies natural defenses without killing it, thats why its also called monkshod. Monks = nonharmful. Human bodies do fight werewolf off, or it tries to so what we've discovered back in my universe is that large doses of aconite will give an overdose feeling and they might die, small doses however seem to help control the werewolf virus or whatever it is exactly.....Dunno if thats any help?

Monks = nonharmful.

I'm sorry, do you remember those monks? At all? Am I completely alone here?

...Sorry, Martha, not helpful at all, she's probably absolutely right in everything she's saying, I just had to... say something. Not very fond of monks anymore. Or cats, for that matter...

Oh, um. Seen a werewolf before - well, lupine wavelength haemovariform, close enough - but not this kind, so I've no idea if the same things would apply. People there used mistletoe to control it, but that could've just been because they conditioned the wolf to think the mistletoe was dangerous to it, rather than it actually being a deterrent to werewolves in gneeral. Moonlight, if it gets enough of it, could theoretically kill it, but that's... not what you want at all. Ummm. I'll think about it.

Sorry about all that Martha. I'll stop bantering now. If you can get some aconite I can show you how to fix it for Remus. We should be able to suppress the werewolf side pretty quickly.

Martha,

You don't know me, but the tone of your entry suggested that aid would be more appreciated than propriety. And I note it's been specifically locked to allow outside perspectives.

I've worked for some time as a doctor, focusing especially on cases involving sumernatural humans. I do know that in this universe, a blood sample from that same werewolf can be concentrated and refined into a local antidote; if injected into the werewolf, it's generally enough to trigger a change back. There was talk some years ago about integrating it to a retrovirus in order to form a vaccine against transformations, but to the best of my knowledge it never moved beyond a proposal. Not exactly the sort of science you'll find in medical journals, after all.

I can't promise that it would work for a Riftcomer, but if you'd like, I can send you all the documentation which confidentiality laws will allow me to release.

Unfortunately, I'm a little desperate at this point, which is why I had to turn to outward sources, even if it means that I can't fully trust the source it comes from, apologies for that, it's... just you could be absolutely anyone. It's just getting the information is necessary. I promised I wouldn't let him kill anyone else and I can't

If I could get my hands on any information you might have about those cases done with werewolves that would be perfect. I can't begin to express how perfect.

How do I get a hold of the documents?

Of course, of course. The political situation being what it is, I would be suspicious as well.

I can have them mailed to the Conrad, or to an email address if you'll provide one. Unfortunately my journal is not electronic, and copying the case reports in longhand would be prohibitively time-consuming.

Political situation? I'm... sorry. I've just never thought of this all as being something that's political before. I guess that's an apt enough name for it, however.

Mailing them to the Conrad would work just fine.

Thank you so much. Really.
