Wow, I can't believe at your school they'd give you tests and proper assignments in the first week. I have just survived the first week (well 3 days) but the only things we have been asked to do is read stuff and fill in one small worksheet. Your school seems tough. Well done for your sports achievments and for suriving!

My school is pretty tough, but it's the best in our area. Part of it stems from the fact that it's tiny. Three towns attend my school, but our graduating class is only about 500 or something like that. So our teachers can really focus on helping us learn, etc.

Anyway, the reason I had the test and a ton of homework is that I'm in all honors classes, which are typically called "advanced" by us students. I'm also in AP US History, which is a college class that I'm taking in high school. If I get at least a 3 on the exam, I won't have to take the class in college. The problem is that the class is really hard and takes a lot of time for homework and studying.

Thanks for the congrats! I'm actually a bit sore right now, but I must say that it was well worth it.
