For easy, cheap, disposable slug traps, take a soda bottle, cut it off about an inch down from the "shoulder" and turn the funnel part upside down into the remaining chamber. What you're left with should look like a cup (from the side) or one of those coin-gravity well games from the top. Put your prefered slug bait (beer apparently works well, but I'm mean and use slug pellets) in the bottom before you add the funnel in. Put throughout the garden, and when they get slugs in them, you can either empty and re-use, or if you have as many bottles as we do, toss the whole thing in the trash. (Melted/dead slugs are icky.)

I had the same problem with my Dodge Neon and it's after market alarm. We (corbaegirl and I) got stuck in Baker City... I finally had to pay a mechanic to disconnect the stupid thing!@#

Speaking of fail, that hen of ours that went broody last month got bored and didn't finish the job. Since we don't have an incubator... :-(

When our previously successful hen goes broody again, I'll earmark some chicks for you. :-)

and why they covered the wood of their houses with felt. Otherwise, the damn sheep would eat the wood! Kid you not. Sigh. This weekend's experiement is to create a portable pen to strategically get them to eat what needs to be eaten. Of course, getting them in and out of it...
