Watching "The Universe" on the History channel. Did you know that on brown dwarf 'stars', there is weather? The gas ions come together and form clouds, and when particles become big enough they form sand particles that rain down. Sand. Raining on a little star ( Read more... )

Well, I'm learning absolutely nothing because my chemistry teacher was a jerk. However, he did inspire the mad-scientist in me with a Tesla coil.

That is rather awesome, I must say.

Grr, bad science teachers should be illegal. Actually, my chemistry teacher last year was a bit rubbish too. Maybe there's an epidemic of them?

He was fun, but he was a mean teacher. He didn't tell me until about two days before a presentation that a calorimeter might not be the best thing to present with less than five minutes. Grrr.

Tesla coils are wonderful things. In my teacher's words, "There's a fine line between pain and pleasure."
