After a little bit of faffing about, being switched from one extension to another, and being told they'd ring me back when they found someone who knew what was going on, the college finally admitted there's no problem and everything is fine. It was just some kind of mix-up. A my-entire-future-threatening mix-up, but a mix-up nonetheless

And awww at your nephew. Andy's been teaching Jack to say, "I'm very well, thank you," when someone asks him how he is and he remembered it for the first time just now when Andy rang! :-)
