I've been doing my usual irritating thing of taking something I squee about and showing it to my non-fandom friends. Usually they go 'huh', politely pay attention, and then try to change the subject whenever I mention it again. But after showing around the Watchmen trailer, I now have a QUEUE of people waiting to borrow my copy of the book. People

*Nods* Siblings and borrowing do not mix. And actually, yeah, most people I've only showed it to once. Obviously it's a damn good trailer even if you don't know the story!

Rambly - been awake a long time already - I just signed up for 2 creative writing 'days' at the Adult Education place next door and - in the interests of finding out more about the course - confesssed to writing fanfic. Woman behind counter said what kind? and I floundered for a moment because - you know - did she mean het v slash? porn v gen? or what fandom?? And settled on a very vague 'all sorts'. Turns out she has a friend that writes HP (:() BSG and Firefly... we then got into a conversation about it until her fellow receptionist threw up her hands and went, "No! please stop?"

I think it's Sainsburys own Lemon 'finest' Curd that is pretty yummy without costing a fortune... but it might be Tesco's

That? Is awesome! Other fic writers obviously must exist in the real world, but somehow I never expect to meet any. Creative Writing days sound good too. Maybe you'll meet the fic-writing friend there?

I got Sainsbury's Basics lemon curd, so I'll upgrade to Finest next time! Something with a bit higher fruit content would be good.

Yeah, even when I went to the con and knew there were Fanfic writers besides myself there it was great when I got chatting to a stray lady Assassin and found out she wrote too :D

I haven't read it - I think I rank among your RL friends on that one - someone's said 'you should take a look you'll like it' and I've hummed and ha'd and then totally forgotten :s I don't really know much about the graphic novel side of life to be honest :D

Discworld fic-writers are the best class of fic-writers!

Watchmen is worth reading if you get the chance; it would be one I'd recommend to someone who hasn't read any/many graphic novels before.
