To some extent at least, the human mind seems to have this amazing capacity to push something aside when you need to cope and get through something. But the thing with pushing things aside is that eventually they come back up to the surface. You take a moment out of just getting through the day, whether intentional or not, and there it is. I'm usually Ms. Christmas Spirit, but this past week, my spirit was greatly shaken. My uncle, my dad's 53-year-old brother, passed away pretty suddenly last week due to a heart attack. I don't even know what to say. I feel like I just went through this. I'm not sure it even completely hit me yet, that it even feels completely real yet.
