053. Puppies [100 SuJu Fic Challenge]
Title: Fifteen’s the Charm

Pairing: Leeteuk x Heechul
Fifteen best friends. Some weirder than others, some smarter than others, all talented.
Leeteuk pressed his face against the fence in pity. “Poor things...”
The employee perked up hopefully. “Thinking of adopting them, sir? Everyone’s been arriving and leaving without a single glance at them.”
Heechul, for once, was paying attention to something else other than his hair and appearance. “If they’re not wanted within a certain period of time, they’ll have to be-”
“Killed. Precisely. It’s a terrible thought, but what else can we do?” The teenager with a nametag reading ‘Taemin’ shook his head regretfully. With a glance at papers, he inhaled sharply, looking up at the two with sorrow. “Their last day is today, actually.”
“Oh no, Chullie! What are we going to do? Death is too early for them; they’re still only puppies!” Leeteuk looked ready to burst into tears.
“We’ll take them.”
“Oh? Which ones?”
“All fifteen of them.”
The puppies were all different.
Welsh Corgi puppy. Daschund puppy. Beagle puppy. Cocker Spaniel puppy. Havanese puppy. Maltese puppy. Pinscher puppy. Papillion puppy. Pomeranian puppy. Pug puppy. Silky Terrier puppy. Toy Fox Terrier puppy. Yorkshire Terrier puppy. Poodle puppy. German Shepherd puppy. Collie puppy.
The funny thing was, Leeteuk thought it was a coincidence how there were fifteen of them and fifteen of him and his friends. Names weren’t matched with the puppies yet, but one thing was for sure; the poodle reminded him exactly of Heechul that it was scary.
As sort of revenge for comparing himself to a puppy, Heechul had huffed and pointed out that Leeteuk himself wasn’t much different from the German Shepherd, as he did order the other dogs around. They laughed when it - Leepherd - herded the others into an area where he could keep an eye on all of them at once before yipping some command in dog language. The Maltese puppy cowered in a corner, covering its eyes with its paws.
Days passed, and Leeteuk had his friends over to have their pick of the litter. He saved Leepherd for himself, and the Poodchul for Heechul, though. As expected, Henry immediately scooped up the Maltese. Henrese.
After the commotion and chaos had died down, Leepherd and Poodchul were the only puppies remaining. They seemed lonely, but Leeteuk had soothingly promised another play-date with the other twelve puppies every once in a while.
“Oh, look!” Heechul cooed, pointing at the pair. “They’re bonding!”
It turned out, Poodchul was female and Leepherd was male.
Oh well; Shepherdoodle anybody?
Or better yet - Leepherdoodchul?
