I've been reflecting on this post. I often get embarrassed at things other people are doing, such as the leg-on-the-seat you describe. I've decided that I should ignore it unless it actually physically or verbally involves me.
If you think that he might injure himself or someone else, it could be a good idea to quietly advise him about it.
I think it's probably very important for him to become more comfortable in social situations. If you can help him by quiet support then that is good.
i somehow still can't take things lying down and correcting a wrong. And so, after seeing that someone sitting up for a while, I quietly asked him to put down his leg.
And my sentiments are similar. But it'll be, if it doesn't hurt anyone at all, I'll ignore it.
