Apologies for the delay in putting this together, which was due mostly to the onslaught of the Fall Jewish holidays. Probably no one cares any more but to keep the streak alive, thought I'd post an Emmy fashion review ( round-up )
This might be the first time I agree with you on all points! Although I do confess to liking Kiernan Shipka's outfit. it's not right for the Emmy's and it has a whole lot going on that doesn't add up.
Even more surprising given how often my choices this year disagreed with the common wisdom: nearly every site had Zoe Kazan and Kerry Washington on their Best Dressed list, for example.
my god those "bad" dresses are horrible. Well, except for the Alexander and Danes beaded dress -- dresses were fine, but they make the women in them look horrible. Especially Danes. O_o

I actually liked most of the dresses this year, but this is by far the most entertaining (and surprisingly astute, when I took a second look after reading the comments!) fashion commentary I've seen yet.
Sophie Turner looked great for going clubbing, but I just could not get behind that look for the red carpet. And I liked Kiernan Shipka's outfit, but otherwise I think I concur with everything. I was really surprised by Christina Hendricks because usually she looks amazing.
Looking at Christina Hendricks, I don't think it was the dress, but the wrong undergarments. If the girls had more upthrust, I think that would have totally worked. But like Lucy, I find I am in agreement with you on categories, with the exception of Ellie Kemper, who is far more of a maybe to my mind than best of anything. But overall, I'd say you knocked this one out of the park on the hilariously pointed observations of why and how the wrong ones went wrong.
Thanks for the compliment! I gave Kemper extra points for how well the gown fitted and how nicely the unique geometric pattern complimented her figure (note the arrows pointing in at the waist), which pipped her just ahead of Allison Janney.
I thought there was enough color in the beading to offset the beige (unlike the washouts I mentioned). Fit like a dream from the back, too - just added a link above, which also shows off more of the sparkle in the beads.

I'm definitely far more on your wave-length this time around!
