washington square park

I'm sitting here at what remains of washington square park... its very sad and depressing... where there use to be a fountain and concrete..there is now a lot of dirt...where there will soon be grass in order to make it "more perfect" and "more parklike"... closed till 2009. so no park over the summer.. and when it returns it won't be the same

I walked by there last week and saw all the construction. I've been meaning to go to the park for about a year now to play chess with the druggies. Where will I play now?

its the end of an era. i remember going there as a kid with my parents...walking around scared of the druggies and prostitutes. Thats where my brother explained to me what a "pimp" was.
