Hey everyone!

I know some of you are planning to or are moving to Dreamwdith so I wanted to make a guide to hopefully help someone out there. I hope the little bit of knowledge that I have of the site will help. Dreamwidth is about 80% the same as Livejournal so there's not a whole lot that I could explain.

Thanks for the information! I've had a dreamwidth for years but never really used it separately. I always just kept it as a back up. I used to have my entries cross posted there. Which I don't think you can do anymore? At least I wasn't able to find a setting for it here on lj. I tried to import my posts from here via dreamwidth import page but it keeps failing, I have no clue why though. The last time it cross posted my stuff was in 2016.

Thanks a lot.
I've been on LJ since before 2004 and I really don't plan to leave, but I tried to sync all my entries to DW. I already made an account in 2017 and synced everything then.
It was really difficult to ge the entries over this time (last week), but managed to do it.
However, my comments don't sync and it seems DW has now completely blocked import from LJ. *sigh*

I'll stay on LJ until the very last second.

Thanks for sharing all these useful communities, though. :)
