Just joined the community. Seems pretty slow but I figured I'd post because I saw Bobby Caldwell live in Chicago over the weekend. He was great. I had seats in row 4 and while it broke the bank, it was worth it. I've been listening to him forever because my dad always loved him. Yeah, Tommy V. is a little too heavy metal dude-esque to truly fit into the surroundings, but he plays "Janet"'s electric solos pretty well.

Bobby's band always puts on a good show. Lord knows I always put up the cash if he appears within a two-state radius of me.

Even the name - Tommy V. I mean ya gotta love it. I could care less what anyone looks like and I listen to lots of bands that have or had the exact looks he has....I just honestly felt he REALLY distracted me from Bobby.

Luckily the show was only about 20 minutes from where I live at a nice venue in downtown Chicago. It was worth the cash. :)

man i really gotta go to a jazz concert soon... esp dave koz, he's my fave. and gerald albright, boney james... so many more. no one comes to boston. we dont even have a smooth jazz radio station here! i live in amherst most of the time, so they do have a station here, luckily, but when im home, i just have my cd's and look on smoothjazz.com for the latest news. sucks, but hopefully theyll have one soon, its been 6 yrs since the other one went off the air... let me know if you hear of any smoothjazz artist comin to boston! Thanks.
