I wonder if this will work

So apparently Best Buy is having a Buy 2, Get 1 free sale on Nintendo DS games this week. Last week, I bought Devil Survivor and Knights in the Nightmare. However, I wouldn't mind getting Avalon Code for free. Or if it's not there, I'll pick up Suikoden: Tierkreis or Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. So I think I am going to go back this ( Read more... )

Yeah, but it's not really a sequel (hence the name Tierkreis instead of, say, Suikoden VI). It has a few elements from Suikoden games, like the 108 Stars of Destiny, but lacks others supposedly, so I've been on the fence about getting it. But if it's essentially free or at most $5, I might as well pick it up.

I bought Suikoden: Tierkreis last week, and have yet to even take it out of the box. I've been playing too much Breath of Fire II, lately.

...I think I'll make a post about that, actually, since it amuses me.

Tom has informed me that Suikoden sucks. Have any of you dudes played The World Ends With You. A friend of mine at school has been really digging it.

I have it...it's fun, but it takes some getting used to. I more or less spend most of the game screen-mashing with the stylus.

I have TWEWY. It's fun. It helps to have a friend who plays it as well to get some of the optional pins, but not necessary. (Failing that, being in a location where people play any DS games helps; an anime con is often given as an example.)

I have Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. Some nice things, but they do have a bit to learn about SRPGs. You can only have 4 deployed characters at any time (though you can bring them back to life). Attacking lets all your nearby allies in range attack the enemy before they get to counterattack; same goes for the enemy. Positioning is hence really important, as you can stack tons of attacks in a round if done right, or have one exposed character battered repeatedly ( ... )
