i dunno about great classics but i always recommend Rohinton mistry's a Fine Balance to people. heh. i should say it's very gritty for the most part, but that's what mistry does best.

Oh Read the Hero's Walk. It's pretty sad but a really really good book. One of my Favourites.

A Fine Balance was so good! Extremely graphic especially considering I was 13, but good. I second everything you said above, only switch MySpace with facebook! Off the top of my head assuming you haven't already, The Kite Runner, The World is Flat, On The Road, An Elegant Universe, House of Leaves... All of those are on my list. I can't remember if we've already talked about this one so disregard if we have, but for a nice long one, A Suitable Boy. One thousand something. I also finally read The Namesake and recommend that. I plan on finding more Jhumpa Lahiri books.

Let me know of anything else you come up with! :D

Thanks! I've meant to pick up A Suitable Boy for a while now. It was on my list that got deleted soooo no more list:(

But I'll definitely check these out:)

Oh and I found a site called gutenberg.com that gives you the online version of some of these books so you can check that out too.
