This post is a small gift for iheartbridges. It's a bunch of pictures I took of the Millau Viaduct on my recent trip. Enjoy, bridgey. And you're welcome to take any of them that you like.
Could I perhaps get you to send me the picture files (in a zip file or whatever) to my email or through yousendit? I would love to have them, but preferably in big size, and without having to right click >> save as on every one.
I would've e-mailed, but it was too big to send in a single e-mail, so I used sendspace. Some of the pictures are quite large, and some are a bit smaller.
Those are excellent pictures. When they first built that bridge, I thought that it looked too gawky with all of those tall, skinny pillars, but now I have come to love it for its utilitarian simplicity (a bit like the U2 spy plane). I still think that long spanned suspension bridges are the most elegant man-made structures on earth (along with a couple sky-scrappers), but I love how they build the cable-stayed bridges.
