I'm going to be closing down the sms_to_lj service soon, but read on because this isn't actually bad news :)

The sms_to_lj service I created has been constantly (apart from a few outages) posting your text messages to LiveJournal since 2003. In that time it's taken over 100,000 of your messages containing insightful thoughts, social commentary and general nonsense

I suspect without the SMS updating I'd done through your gateway, I'd have never seen the appeal of Twitter at all, and I now use Twitter a lot for a huge number of things.

That you've effectively got some work out of doing it and we've now got a proper supported service is cool, so thanks for doing it, really cool.

(before I go sign up, d'you know if they'll support Dreamwidth?)

Since presumably Dreamwidth is based on the LJ codebase then it wouldn't be hard for them to add it. Ask on theire GetSatisfaction site.
