Summary: A girl in a foreign country gets an unexspected offer for the adventure of a lifetime with five amazing guys when she helps a boy with bullys. Will she take it?

The summery is kind of dumb; What girl would turn it down?!

“What? No.” I snatched my hand away and he looked confused. “I- I mean.. I… can’t.”

“Why not?” Jonghyun demanded to know and his head bobbed with each word for emphasis. I took it he understood a few English words and gestures.

I looked off to the side. “I’m only here for a while… then I go back. The people that I’m staying with cannot let me go.”

“Then who would?” Key said after he told the other three what I said.

“My real parents, maybe, but I doubt they would let me.” I wished that they would. “How would I join you anyhow? Wouldn’t you’re agents or managers be against it?”

“We’re good at cooking things up.” Minho translated for Onew. “I agree. We could work something out.”

I thought about it… This would be life changing. I wouldn’t be able to go back to every day life because it would be so boring and I didn’t want to pass this up. What are the chances that they would actually allow it? “I wouldn’t know where to start.”

“Take us to your home here. We’ll start there.” Key said with a huge smile.

Onew slumped his shoulders and tilted his head back and said something out loud.

“This is no time for chicken, Onew.” Minho boomed. “Quickly take us there.” he said looking back to me. I smiled and walked past them back through the ally way and they trailed behind. I went back to the bench to gather my things.

“Will people crowd us to get to you since you know… You’re idols?” I put my things in my bag and slung it onto my back

“Maybe.” Key said smiling. No wonder peole called him the Diva.

“Ok. Grab hands then.” I said offering mine as five others reached for it at once. Then there was shoving. “Ay!” I yelled to calm them. “Taemin gets to hold my hand.”

Tae had a sweet grin on as he took hold of me then joined hands with Minho, Jong, Key then Onew.

"Are you ready, or not?"

“We’re ready.” Tae said. His face looked a tad bit strained as he tried to get the words to come out as fluent as he could.

“Then... let’s go!” I ran out of the main entrance into the street tugging them along. “MAKE WAY!!” I yelled as people hurried aside not to get trampled on. “SORRY!” I couldn’t contain my joy at all. I was so unbelievably happy. I had met five handsome talented guys and they wanted me to join them on tour. ME! Of all people! I smiled and looked back to see the guys smiling too. I prayed that somehow I did get to go. I didn’t want to miss any of this.

We finally made it to my house huffing until we got to the door. “Fun.” Taemin said wiping a little sweat from his brow.

Jonghyun went up to me huffing a few lines and flinging a finger up and down in my face. I just smiled and laughed and he did too.

“He said, ‘Don’t you ever do that again, crazy girl.’ He’s just mad he had to workout.” Minho laughed pushing Jjong who smacked his hands away with a bold look saying ‘Test me I dare you’ and that only made Minho go at him again.

“Aya! You two stop we’re here to make a good impression!” Key said smacking to get away from one another. I laughed, encouraging them without meaning to.

Once they had stopped and composed themselves I headed to the door of my Stand-in-parents and opened it.

“Umma?”

“Ya?” I heard her voice flow to me from the kitchen.

“Would you come here? There are some people who would like to meet you.” I felt scared. Would she know who they were?

I saw her wiping her dainty hands with her apron as she made her way to me. “Who is it?” She asked then stopped dead at the door when they introduced themselves. I didn’t have to speak their language to know what they were saying.

“Hello, we are Shining SHINee.” Their fist in the air for proper greeting.

She stood there for a moment then started talking and shreiking away in her native tongue. From what I had learned in school I heard something along the lines of ‘biggest’ and ‘love’ so I guessed it was a good thing. I didn't think her to be a SHINee fan but people always have surprises. They smiled and embraced her when she went up to them for hugs. Then as if catching her snap she quickly composed herself and beaconed them into the house.

Taemin lingered behind making sure I went in before he did. I had no idea what I was doing or how this was going to play out. It just felt so unreal. There’s no way this wasn’t a dream.

Once we all left all of our shoes by the door, were all inside, and seated in the living room they started conversing. I didn’t understand a word (I should have payed better attention in class) and Key must have seen the lost look on my face.

“Why don’t we speak in English- so Kristy will be able to understand. Minho will translate for the others.”

Kyung Soon nodded. “Of course. Now what’s this you were asking about Kristy?”

“We were wondering if there is anyway you were able to get in contact with her parents as soon as possible.”

“What for? Did she do something wrong?” Kyung glanced at me with a worried look.

“No that’s far from it.” Minho said jumping in. “She did something good.”

Onew said something with a smile and Key translated: “She has a really good voice.”

“Yes I know. She sings in her room quite often.”

I sunk down in my seat as the eyes in the room made their way to me. “I didn’t think anyone could hear me…”

They all laughed- even the others when they heard the translation. Once they were finished laughing at my humiliation Minho spoke.

“To be strait forward about this we want her to come sing with us.”

“She can go right now. I’m her guardian while she’s here.” Kyung said smiling at me with pride.

“It’s a bit more complicated than that… We want her to join us in our travels; Make her a temporary member.”

Kyung gasped. “Oh that is complicated. I have an emergency contact that can patch me through to her biological parents but I’m not sure this would be classified as one.”

I felt my hope dying as I lowered my head in defeat.

“But I could certainly try. I wouldn’t want Kristy to miss out on an opportunity this big.”

My eyes looked up at her through my lashes. She sent an encouraging smile to me and I returned it, lifting my head.

“We would appreciate that.” Key said looking over to me. He threw me a goofy smile and I felt excited all over. Would I really get to go?

“While you wait would you like some refreshments? I was already preparing a snack for Kristy. I could easily make more.”

They all politely nodded and she headed into the kitchen. I rubbed both of my sock covered feet together and looked at my hands not knowing what to do.

“Are you nervous?” A deep voice asked.

“Of course I am.”

“Don’t be. Just relax. We’ll do all the work to get you in.” Minho continued.

“How?” I asked suddenly. “This is the real world. Stuff like this doesn’t just happen. Let’s just face it. Chances are that something’s going to stop your plan and I’ll go back to America. Done. There’s nothing more.”

“Don’t say things like that.” Key scolded. “You just have to think positive and you’ll always get there. Like me.”

“You have to work hard, not lay back with fullness of one’s self.” Minho said reaching over Jonghyun to push Key.

Kyung came back with a try with plates full of small finger foods and set them on the small coffee table. “I’ll go make that call now.” She said before hurrying down the hallway on the left heading towards her room.

“Where’s her husband?” Minho asked.

“He works during the day. I rarely see him.” I said thinking about the silent man. I remember his name was JiMin. I just called him Appa and Umma called him her dumpling.

Onew and Tae both went for some food and ate it silently. Tae whispered something to Key and then glanced at me.

“He wants to know how old you are.” Key said.

“Well here I’m eighteen.”

They all looked shocked. “You’re young. I thought you were older.” Key said with a little laughter.

I touched my face with a small pout. I looked old? Ah well. I was always told I looked older than I was; I’d had small trace of smiling caused wrinkles and lack of sleep darkness under my average sized eyes since a very young age. I used to hate it but I realized it was evidence of the trials I had faced at such a young age so I embraced them. I was a red almost russet color and I had medium sized deep pink- deathly close to purple- lips that I didn’t particularly like along with my nose that I inherited from my father that I thought was to big but somehow seemed to fit with my face. I was plump I guess you could say; I was rather busty and always had been since Jounior High and my curves were rather pronounced. People who often thought I was way older made passes at me until I bluntly stated my age.

“We didn’t mean to offend.” Key said suddenly when I didn’t respond.

“Oh, I understand. I get that a lot so it’s not insulting anymore.” I joked. He smiled slightly and then quickly filled in the oncoming silence. “So tell us about yourself.”

“Um… What do you want to know?” I asked not really knowing where to start.

“Best food.” Onew asked taking another finger food.

“Well… I like sea food, Mexican food and Italian.” I didn’t really have much to choose from.

“Color?” Jonghyun leaned forward.

“Green.” I said almost immediately which made him smile with his mouth slightly a gap. “Red and Blue are my second and third favorite.” I almost forgot they didn’t entirely understand until I saw Key and Minho go to work.

“Sport?” Minho’s eyes squinted a little and they seemed to look hard into me. I felt hot in my face.

“Well I like basketball and football but soccer catches my interest more even though I don’t know much about the sport.”

“Brand of clothing?” Key asked eagerly.

“Whatever I think I look ok in.” That received a big lipped pout that made his cheek bones become more pronounced than before.

“Game?” Taemin asked with crescent moon eyes.

“Hide and seek.” They all smiled. The next fifteen minutes were full of questions such as how I usually wore my hair (from Key), my favorite pass time, book, movie, place, and so on. I thought they would never run out of questions and I didn’t want them to, but Kyung rushed in.

“Kristy your mother is on the phone. There’s a huge time difference there; she was sleeping but she excepted the call. Hurry and talk to her.”

I ran down the hallway without a look at the guys to the room picking up the phone anxiously. “Umma?”

“What?” I hadn’t hear my mom’s voice in what seemed like ages. I had received letters but those weren’t as physical as the sound streaming into my ear.

“Sorry, it means Mom.”

“So I take it that it’s growing on you there. What’s going on. I was told it was an emergency.” Her voice was thick with grogginess from her interrupted slumber. “Is something wrong?”

I hoped she wouldn’t be upset that I woke her for something that wasn’t an actual emergency. Well it depended on how you defined it. I tugged at my hair nervously. “Don’t be mad, but you remember SHINee?”

She was quiet for a moment. “The Korean boy group you and Becky obsessed over, yes.”

I smiled at her tone. “Well… I met them.”

“That’s great, but you could have just written that, Sweetie.” I was thankful her tone was serene and not annoyed.

“That’s not all, Ma. I sang for them… and they want me to join them in their tour.”

I could almost hear the crickets chirping on the other end. “Mom?”

Nothing.

“Momma, say something.” I frowned with worry and I could feel a little crease in in my brow.

“They want you to join them? Like sing in the concert and travel too?”

“That’s the idea.” I breathed a sigh of relief leaning casually on the wall. “Only you can give me permission to do so.”

“When did this happen?”

“Today.” The words seemed so fake in my ears. This all happened in one day. ONE! I kept expecting myself to be shaken awake by either my mom or Kyung telling me to go to school. I hated the feeling of constantly doubting reality.

“Today?” I could hear the shock in her voice. “Kristy this is all to fast and they’re all practically grown men! I don’t know…”

“I can only respect your decision. I know whatever you pick it’s in your best intentions.”

“What are they feeding you over there?” I could tell she was surprised with how respectful I was being but that’s one of the things I liked about being over here. Respect was everywhere. “You would hate me forever if I said no.”

“No I wouldn’t, Mom. I would just simply go back to daily life like the offer was never made. I don’t want you to go against what you think is best for me for fear that I would despise you later on.” I felt an uneasy tug in my stomach. I just said I was ok with a ‘no’ which I wasn’t but I wouldn’t hate my mom.

“… I wouldn’t want you to miss out on this experience, Kristy.” I stood straight up abruptly. “I give you permission. Mail over anything I need to fill out. I’ll get in touch with the Exchange program and inform them of this. Don’t ever say I didn’t love you.”

I bowed my head with the weight of my unending love for my understanding mother. “I would never say such lies.” My eyes shut and I smiled, savoring this moment. This was really going to happen. “Thank you so much.”

“I love you. Have a fun time. Write me always and tell me about your experiences. I want to know how my KPOP star of a daughter is liking the big life.”

“I- I… Love you too, Mom. Go to sleep now. Bye.”

I waited for her final farewell then hung up the phone with a wide smile. I spun around in a quick motion while trusting a fist in the air in victory with my eyes closed to emphasize my triumph and when I opened them I saw six pairs of wide eyes looking at me from their clustered spot by the doorway. I dropped my smile quickly with a blank look and when I realized I still had my fist up I lowered it slowly.

“I didn’t know you were there.” I said quietly.

They all busted out laughing rushing towards me. “We heard everything!” Key yelled grabbing my hands and jumping up and down. I could help but catch his contagious happiness and I started to jump in the middle of them all. Onew and Tae wrapped their arms around me in a huge hug and Jonghyun patted my back with his huge smile. Minho put a finger to his lips then pointed up and started cheering too.

Could it get any better than this?

*I kind of rushed through this. I just wanted to update it and I didn't really have alot of time to put a lot of effort in it. Brutal or kind comments are appreciated. I need the insight :)
