That's pretty cool; I guess this is the opposite - giving a rat's brain control of a machine. The thing that hit me most about this cyborg ratbot thing, though, is that it has the capacity to learn, and when they replaced the rat neurons with those of another rat, it learned differently.
If you put this in context of the remote controlled rat that you saw I guess we have the beginnings of a) a way to control human slaves and b) a race of cyborgs who could achieve human enslavement. Oh, future. Please stay far away.

Seriously, it had electrodes in it's brain and they could send signals to encourage it to turn left or right.
