I Stumbled a list of ten common spelling mistakes, and this was one of them:

Kat and I agree that it is annoying, and would like to be exempt from the label of 'fucktards' as we most certainly do not write 'alot'. My pet hate at the moment is 'then' when people mean 'than', grrr.

Have double-checked this for grammar and spelling, because the rule is: if you're complaining about it, you're going to make a mistake.

I had you in particular in mind when I was thinking of people who I'd never seen make this mistake, so "fucktard" definitely wasn't meant to include you. The then\than thing was one of the other mistakes on the list, but I've never noticed people doing it.

It's a mostly American mistake, because with certain accents it sounds the same. Damned vowel shift! *shakes fist*
