ok, so i have a lot of questions:
first of all, why did calypso just evaporate? because if she was a goddess, just a spirit, before, then why did davy jones HAVE to go ashore to see her? because that was before she got bound to human form, right? she got bound to human form BECAUSE she wasn't there for davy jones, correct?
why was their kid the same

hmm, but then why would jones even need to go ashore? if calypso could've just come to him. he shouldn't have had to wait 10 years to see her, if she could just like materialize wherever.
but what about davy jones trying to open his chest to get his heart, once calypso was not bound anymore? he made it seem like he could end the curse himself, by putting his own heart back into himself. so then couldn't will do the same thing?

and the kid having the piece of 8 in the beginning...didn't beckett have like seven of those coin thingies, too? but i thought the pieces of 8 were the "random-junk-that-we-happened-to-have-in-our-pockets-at-the-time". so then...what were the coins? and why was captain jack wearing one in his headband?

i'm confused as to the value of the 9 pieces of 8, because they changed the rule in the code saying that you didn't need them anymore, and that they could just use random junk in their pockets at the time. so then why did beckett want them?

RIGHT SO UM. For your unanswered questions-- as far as I can tell, anyway-- I actually was veryvery curious about the boy from the beginning and their son at the end, so I looked it up and apparently it's a different person, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought they were the same kid at first when I was in the theater O_O The singing boy at the beginning is played by Brendyn Bell, while Mini-Turner is played by Dominic Scott Kay. (Here)
I think there might be something with the coins, since the boy at the beginning had a coin in his hand. Maybe the coins are used to call the meeting of the Brethren, something like the Galleons for Dumbledore's Army in Harry Potter? Since we did see one of the coins on Beckett's desk vibrating/spinning, right?
And for the Dutchman, the East India Company took it over, which I think was because Norrington got the heart at the end of Dead Man's Chest. (I don't really remember that movie, so I might be off.) And Norrington allied with Beckett at the beginning, and so Beckett ( ... )
