Apparently there have been several terrible fires along the lines of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, only in Pakistan and Bangladesh.  In factories making clothing for sale in the US.

The fact that victims of the Bophal disaster are still trying to get compensation so many years later from Union Carbide and their heirs and assigns prove pretty conclusively that US big business interests don't give a tuppenny stuff!

I know. US big business has a very bad tendency towards evil.

I wish I had the income to only spend my money with the few companies that aren't actively evil (or are the least evil, in the case of industries that are pretty much all rotten). If I leaned toward conspiracy theories, I'd wonder if the drive to keep as much of the US as possible poor wasn't to keep us from being ethical with our spending.

I simply will not knowingly buy their products, but they have fingers in so damn many pies!
