This is really not my home

I've never really paid attention to the lyrics in songs. To me they've always been there merely to prevent the singer having to 'hum' and 'do-dah' their way through a tune. I always listen to music for the tune, rather than the words.
At least I did until I was pointed in the direction of Garden Valley performed by Cara Dillon.

Never have I felt so in tune (excuse the pun!) with a song more than with this one. At the moment I guess I'm happyish, but I just don't feel right here in Dundee. I can have fun here and there are people I like, it's just I feel like I don't belong anywhere at the moment. I guess I'm just not a city person. I love the country, the aforementioned 'Garden Valley'. I've been feeling this way for a while now, I just felt I needed to get it off my chest.

Maybe it's time for a change.

No doubt I have completely misinterpreted the song, but this is how it makes me feel so I guess that's all that is important. Also, it's a beautiful song, performed wonderfully by Cara. I love it so much, so very much.

Whoa, well that was an overly dramatic and incoherent post. It wasn't supposed to be that when I started writing it!

And on a lighter note I find it amusing that in the original lyrics it was 'Jenny' and not 'Johnny' seeing how it was a Jenny (_jenjen_) that made me aware of this song in the first place. And also that it was 'Tay' and not 'Bay' seeing how I'm sitting here on the banks of the Tay saying how much I don't feel at home. I guess 95% of the lyrics being accurate is close enough! :)

I guess this post could be used as a heads up that when I go to see her perform in June (YAYS!) if I start blubbing you'll know why. ;)
