I wish I knew how to handle this. All signs are pointing to: "forget about him," but something inside me says not to.

it'll be hard, but why put yourself in that position where you know it won't work out? i don't understand...but everything will be alright!

I'm in the same boat. It's hard to not put yourself in a position where you know you'll be hurt if you love the person. Especially when you feel there is still a tiny bit of a chance. Giving up that chance right away could lead to regrets later.

So far I've come to the conclusion that in these kind of situations, you'll only have an answer when it's all over. If it works out, then you'll appreciate the relationship that much more and know the two of you can overcome anything.... if on the other hand it doesn't then you'll know the signs to look for in future relationships so that you can get out of them before feelings come in to play.

Then again, this is all easier said than done.
