Oakland is treating me fairly well. Yesterday I went to the Lake Merritt farmer's market and biked home by a fairly circuitous and hilly route. It seems that the income gap is (mostly) the elevation gap around here; as soon as you start climbing the hills the houses become much bigger and the yards get greener and more manicured. So, I bicycled down the Pacific Coast from Olympia, WA to San Francisco, CA. It was a pretty big undertaking for me, and I'm proud I did it. Parts of it were difficult.
