Challenge #150: Soft - Balancing Act
Casey knew his dad would be angry, but he hadn't expected the silent treatment. The only time he heard his dad speak was the muffled shouting from his parents' bedroom.
"You're making him soft. He's gonna grow up funny like your cousin Mike."
Casey couldn't remember ever meeting a Mike at family reunions, but he understood that being like Mike was not good.
It was just gymnastics though; it wasn't like he wanted to wear a dress or anything girly. But it wasn't until he promised he wouldn't quit playing baseball that his dad looked him in the eye again.
