I not only taped songs off the radio, I taped *television shows*. And listened to them over and over into the night

Hee! I did that too, back in the dark ages before we had a VCR. I remember recording "Little House on the Prairie" and listening to it later. The sound was always so dreadful, what with the dog panting into the recorder, the phone ringing in the background, my mom griping at my sister. LOL.
