Hmm, I suppose he was; but feel free to throw in suggestions on venue, modalities, and, most important-- timing!

I don't see myself having much free time until Dec (except for one weekend at the end of this month)... what do things look like for you up at Edinburgh?

i'm going to see if i can make a visit to germany in the next couple of weeks. i'm also planning to take a break around the end of the year, probably pushing it as far as january - but i'm not entirely sure about that. all depends on how the phd shapes up.
you could catch the train down here for a few days at the end of the month, i'll definitely be here then.

Good to know that you are taking the time to catch up on the local customs, after the last time around.. Your knowledge of Edinburgh then was encyclopaedic! :)

What tipped me off about his geographic awareness was when we were walking around and he stopped dead in the middle of the road, turned toward me and exclaimed: "Dude! That guy has got a Scottish accent!!"

i'm absolutely free for the next two weeks. after that, i'm probably still free ;-) i have no idea how that phd is going to go. and you're most welcome in late october, or any other time! you'll have a room to stay here.
