I had quite wanted to go to this conference (I'm an ARM member), but it was such a long way/expensive, and i had promised already to be my friend's birthpartner in this timespan.

I hope your friends birth goes well. I'm on call myself at the moment too, but fortunately within an hour of Telford so this weekend was all very doable. If they do one in Telford again (I believe it's in the pipeline as the venue was so good) then we don't live far away and have crash space...

My friend actually already gave birth - but it wouldn't have been practical to come anyway.
It's nice to hear a personal review - it's hard to know whether it's worth such a trip.If i know i can combine it with seeing you then i think i'll be coming next year!

Congratulations on being part of that community and feeling your 'calling' I reckon the earth and all the mothers, partners and babies out there need you G! You'd be a wonderful midwife.
