These are YYH one-sentence fics I've written. They're in the order I wrote them in, some of them sort of go together, and there's one random Kurama gen one in the middle, so this is really just a hodgepodge of mini-fics. Also, I bend the rules of English punctuation, because I fail at being concise. :D
Yu Yu Hakusho - Kuwabara/Yuusuke One-sentence fic 1-28
- Kuwabara had always kinda thought that when he grew up he'd get married, have a house full of cats and a couple of kids - maybe even with Yukina-san - but eventually he realized that he'd really mostly wanted to save her, protect her, like a sister (or an ideal), and gradually, in that same eventuality or maybe a bit later on, he realized that he kinda really -like- liked Urameshi, so he needed to re-think his Grand Plan for the Future, but he found he really didn't mind too much at all when he managed to make Urameshi smile like that.
- Yuusuke eyed the fat cat warily, then with a sigh knelt down and patted the creature's fuzzy head, an offering of peace (or at least a truce), saying quietly so no one else would hear: "I like him, an' he likes me, too, y'know, so yer just gonna have t'share, Eikichi."
- At first Kuwabara fought with Urameshi out of anger, then he fought just to fight, then he fought just for the contact - when he realized he'd rather have the contact without the fight, he wasn't sure how to handle this new information at all; after an awkward few weeks he finally just kissed the guy, explaining everything with the honest and heartfelt physical language he lacked the ability to explain with words.
- In the dark of the first night after they moved in together, Yuusuke woke with Kuwabara's arm draped comfortably across his stomach, and his cat draped not-so-comfortably across his face; after a few days of this invasive cohabitation (in which Yuusuke would wake, sigh into that suffocating fur, and carefully move the cat onto his pillow instead of his face), Eikichi decided he really wasn't so bad and started sleeping curled up on his pillow in a sign of feline acceptance.
- Kuwabara and Yuusuke could only stand to eat leftover ramen from the youkai's stand for so long; eventually they had to put their collective manly pride aside and go grocery shopping.
- Kuwabara didn't speak after Eikichi died - he'd been quiet before, but afterwards he was silent; it was hours later when Yuusuke was finally able to show up, to wrap his arms around the grieving man, and break the silence around him with a rare, honest, "I'm sorry."
- They had started out with a picnic, just about everyone they knew coming along but once the rain started and the girls had run for shelter in Genkai's temple, the guys had started a game in the mud with a lopsided soccer ball and no rules; Kuwabara wasn't sure exactly why Yuusuke'd decided to tackle him - a teammate! - like that, but lying in the mud with the shorter man kissing him, he thought the day had turned out pretty well after all (even though the other team won the game).
- Kuwabara didn't have a problem with Yuusuke stealing a drink from his juicebox - until he went to take a drink himself and realized the bastard had stolen all BUT a drink, which left Kuwabara feeling pretty surly and thirsty - mostly thirsty though.
- That was the problem with Urameshi Yuusuke - he came into Kuwabara's life and Kuwabara was prepared to give him one thing (a fight the bastard wouldn't ever forget), but in the end, when Urameshi Yuusuke walked out of Kuwabara's life, he left with another (Kuwabara's heart).
- Yuusuke came back unannounced and early, but it had still been a very long time and Kuwabara had been without the holder of his heart for so long he found that when given the opportunity he had no idea what to say.
- Kuwabara was nervous as Keiko came to speak to him - this get-together of Kurama's was the first time he'd seen her since he and Yuusuke got together - and he started to apologize, to explain that he'd never meant to hurt her, but she cut him off with a laugh and explained that she'd had time to realize she and Yuusuke weren't right for each other at all; they talked amiably for a few minutes before Keiko waved to a guy at the door, and excused herself to introduce Yuusuke to her new boyfriend.
- At first, Kuwabara thought nothing in the world could be better than being able to kiss Yuusuke, until he was thrusting into that tight heat, panting and gasping and watching the pleasure and other harder-to-name emotions playing across the youkai's face as he came, as -they- came, and -then- Kuwabara knew nothing in the world could be better than THAT (though he was still fond of the kissing).
- Although Kuwabara had stocked up on caffeine-filled drinks for the Saturday night sci-fi B-movie marathon on TV, the credits of the fourth movie played to two obliviously sleeping boys, Yuusuke's head resting on Kuwabara's shoulder and Kuwabara's head on his; Shizuru thought about waking them up but when she saw the stupid, happy smile on her little brother's face, she just rolled her eyes and turned off the TV.
- The first time Kuwabara and Yuusuke decided to actually go out to a nice restaurant they'd felt so uncomfortable there - especially when the waiter had started going on about the specials *in another language* - that they'd laughed at the poor guy, and left to go get some fast food instead.
- Kuwabara's neck was starting to cramp as he leaned down to kiss Yuusuke - the guy was too short but there was no helping that - so, unwilling to -stop- kissing him 'cause it was really, really nice, Kuwabara just kinda lifted the youkai up and Yuusuke wrapped his legs tightly around his waist and that was the kind of teamwork Kuwabara really, really liked.
- Kuwabara told himself that his hands on Yuusuke's ass were just there for stability - but hell, he couldn't even fool himself because he knew that he thought that Yuusuke's was a -really nice- ass.
- The new kung-fu movie they'd wanted to see was already playing when they arrived at the theatre, having gotten distracted in side alleys multiple times on the walk over - Yuusuke's hair a bit mussed and Kuwabara grinning happily and both looking thoroughly kissed - so in the end they decided to just head back over to Yuusuke's and continue what they'd started (multiple times).
- While Kuwabara had never been afraid of the dark, he'd always been sort of wary - his high spirit awareness meant he could sense that there really were things that went bump in the night - but lying in bed with Yuusuke, a warm weight half on top of him, he felt so safe he could relax completely as he fell asleep.
- Shizuru sat her brother and his - ugh - *boyfriend* down in the booth and sat across from them, taking a drag on her cigarette as she tried to think of how to bring up the subject of "the (gay) talk" since her father and Atsuko couldn't be trusted to; after a minute Yuusuke got tired of waiting and turned and -kissed- the blushing redhead in a very thorough way Shizuru -really- had hoped never to see, so she rolled her eyes, muttered "just - don't do anything -too- stupid," and left (after ordering herself a milkshake to go and leaving the boys with the check - they deserved it).
- Kuwabara felt guilty that he had to do homework when Yuusuke was over to watch a movie with him, but it was still nice to have company - the redhead sprawled out across the floor propped up on an elbow as he worked, Yuusuke leaning comfortably against him as a pillow as he watched the movie - and when Kuwabara was finally finished he realized Yuusuke had fallen asleep, so he just grinned and laid his head on his arms and went to sleep himself.
- Kuwabara and Yuusuke both wished so very badly that they had just skipped instead of coming in late from their latest fight - their homeroom teacher announced a new "health education and life preparedness" project, which apparently consisted of taking care of a computerized baby doll for two weeks, and to make things worse, they were to be partners, as everyone else had already been paired off.
- Kuwabara woke with a start when the doll starting crying - again, and just when he'd finally, finally gotten to sleep, too; he blinked in surprise when Yuusuke got up and tended to the doll with clumsy motions, mumbling "go back t'sleep, idiot."
- Yuusuke grumbled loudly as Kuwabara took fucking -forever- picking out a yukata to wear to the festival - the guy -insisted- on wearing one (and that meant Yuusuke, too, or he'd have to deal with a sulky "I won't beg but I'll guilt you anyway" Kuwabara for -days-), and the youkai was getting pretty desperate to get out of there -sometime- soon, so he grabbed the nearest yukata of the proper size and threw it at the redhead - they both stared at it in amused surprise when they realized the fabric was covered in kitty-sized paw prints.
- The problem, Kurama decided, with being able to never, ever be caught, was that it was rather difficult to become famous (or infamous) - but at least it was entertaining to watch everyone attempt to catch the prankster (even "helping" with the investigations on occasion) because no one would ever suspect Minamino Shuuichi.
- Yuusuke had never felt so helpless as when the hospital staff wouldn't let him go in to see Kuwabara, simply because he wasn't family or spouse - apparently the years they'd been together weren't worth anything to these people.
- Yuusuke had never felt anything close to this weird warm-fluttery feeling for anyone but Keiko before, so he figured it was just a fluke or something and tried to ignore it, because, come on, he couldn't feel -that way- about -Kuwabara-.
- Yuusuke blinked as a stack of photos caught his eye, shoved to the back of the shelf in his closet; flipping through them idly (they were from that Christmas he'd gotten the camera), he pulled one out of the stack and set the rest aside - Kuwabara was half looking at the camera, an expression of fond exasperation on his face, and he looked... like Kuwabara, Yuusuke thought, suddenly uncomfortable, and put the pictures away again.
- Yuusuke blinked as a photo caught his eye, stuck under a box on the shelf in his closet; pulling it out, he grinned - it was from that Christmas when he'd gotten the camera, Kuwabara half-facing the camera with an expression of fond exasperation on his face - and Yuusuke stuck it to his fridge with a magnet to give him something to smile about until Kuwabara's college had vacation and he could come visit.
