Oh, I love this, the appreciation of parting.

I was thinking about our gym mornings recently. Things changed, things still the same. Let's have dinner or something soon.

Aw.

I just figured out yesterday that I have to replace the valve seals on my bike. They're leaking oil into my spark plugs. On two left ones. Any advice here? I don't know if I have the power to do it myself. I wonder how much it costs to have a mechanic do it...

you will have to pull the head off the engine and then the valve needs to be pressed out with a special machine. some engines (such as the cb750) need to come entirely out of the bike before the head can be removed. this is a huge pain.

if that is not the case with you, then it would indeed be possible for you to get the head off yourself provided that you have the tools, patience, bravery, a place to work, and don't mind getting dirty. i've done it several times, and you will end up knowing that bike a lot better afterwards.

i will guess that the valve-job part will cost you $100. add another $100 if you have them pull the head for you. add another $200 if your engine needs to come out of the bike.

here is a shot of you/me/david on our hondas...
