Once you've got past the eagle door knocker and up the spiral staircase from the common room -- or presumably just flown around the castle on a broom and landed, which seems a bit of security problem, not that Bolly is judging (he is super judging) -- you will find yourself on the Ravenclaw terrace, a surprisingly spacious roof garden with planters, benches, and a central monument decorated normally with eagles and today with party balloons. The weather isn't the most clement, as is normal for the Highlands in Spring, but the terrace is currently occupying a bubble of spell-induced warmth, giving all the view and none of the chill. There are a few built in benches, but most of the seating is being provided by thick blankets borrowed from the drama club in a spectacular array of colours. One corner of the terrace has been made especially cosy with cushions and pillows and otherwise cordoned off as the quiet zone.
A wide array of savoury foods, basically a straight run down of the Flint/Weasley cousins favourite foods, are arranged on a long table under spells to keep them fresh and the perfect temperature. A smaller array of sweet snacks adjoins them, next to an impressively large birthday cake. Chilled crates of butterbeer and juice bottles rest under the table and, for those who prefer a warmer drink, a lightly spiced hot chocolate pot that will refill itself on demand gets its own little side table of honour next to the plates, cups, and utensils. Above all of that is a sparkly "Happy Birthday!" banner, because if you can't make yourself a giant glittery flashy banner, why bother at all? In the remaining corner, a wireless is quietly tuned to an all music no talk channel, which means it's mostly playing slightly out of date pop songs.
A little sign at the top of the stairs says "Sorry, no alcohol" and, in a different handwriting, "where Bolly can see it :)" and then in the first handwriting ">:(", but nothing is crossed out. Welcome to the Birthday Picnic.
