Thank you! And no need to apologise for being late - you're not at all!

This is wonderful. I can see so much of the future Sirius in here and yet Alphard seems so much more reserved. This has made me so very excited to learn more about him! :D

Well, he was born in a different era. And he was more devious than Sirius, really, because he wasn't as brash.

He was completely aware that he'd be disowned, but he did it in a very calculating way and wasn't as desolate as Sirius.

You'll learn a lot about him, hopefully. I love writing him.

Great character story!

Tom loves the idea that he makes Alphard a little uncomfortable, by the way. He will probably have all kinds of fun with that...

Well, not so much uncomfortable as not liking him. Alphard just doesn't know why he doesn't care for Tom. You know, like when you don't like someone who's liked by all your friends and you can't tell what't wrong?

At that time, of course, he didn't know how dangerous Tom was, right? Years later, when he does know, he'll understand that it was something like sixth sense.

It's an interesting idea - the only thing I would really ask you to be careful of with that are the implications, particularly where Minerva is concerned.

IF there's some deep way to sense that Tom isn't right, that would make Minerva look bad by extension - how come Alphard knew to keep his distance (somewhat) and Minerva didn't?

Is Alphard going to have any other prophetic dreams, etc.? That could be very interesting and would explain things. Or an ability to read auras, if they exist in the HP universe, or just an extreme "knack" for reading people? Whatever it is, it's something that should be believable and something play through his whole character...not just where Tom's concerned.

Part of where we're trying to go with the Tom/Minerva, and have been from the beginning, is to show how a smart, independent, talented woman can get caught up in a bad relationship - ( ... )

Oh, I don't think that Minerva would look bad by extension. Alphard is not a very judgemental person - and he liked Minerva a lot. We all have (or have had) friends who date people whom we see as creeps - does that mean that our friends are creeps? No! I told Megan already - Alphard, of all people, knows that you don't choose whom you'll fall in love with ( ... )

You know, I like your ideas for Alphard, very, very much. He's so similar to Sirius, yet so different.

Thanks, darling. He's a Sirius, but without the rebellion - it was another time.

And he's cute, isn't he?

He's gay, isn't he?

Please don't be angry at my asking. It's just that, well, Sanara's gotten the idea in to her head now, and she'll be watching and trying desperately to come with some way asking that isn't asking. Which means you don't have to answer here, but can answer when she finally gets the courage up.

Sanara's standing in the middle of the room like it's the set of a play she doesn't know, and all she can think of is her last conversation with Olive. And she doesn't know what that means. Poor girl.

Yes, he is.

I don't mind you asking at all - I just didn't want to put it in his info sheet.

I hope Sanara will ask him eventually; he may or may not be straightforward right away. He has a lot of issues to deal with, as you can imagine, but it's something he'll have to face, whatever her reaction is.

FYI, and because it's important to the era players to know, Alphard is fully aware that his parents have arranged a marriage for him. This is, of course, one of the issues.

He asked the Hat to be put in Slytherin, but the Hat agreed mostly because he found a lot of cunning in him.

I can understand how she feels. He's been pretty mysterious so far.

What was her last conversaion with Olive?

It doesn't matter what Olive and Sanara's last conversation was, at this stage, their fourth year, all their conversations are a little awkward. They fought a lot in first term, and at the time of the current threads she's just beginning to realise that Olive means more to her than just about anyone else.

Just read her info sheet. Excellent!

Well, they may be able to talk about their issues eventually. He's not so much in denial (he's known he likes boys since he reached puberty), but he fell madly in love and is a bit woozy. He's not openly gay, though. Very few people know it, and no one at school.
