Having one of those days when I'm positive everything I've just said makes me sound like a catty bitch. Or a bitchy cat. Or just someone you wouldn't want to spend time with. I should shut up now.
Happy voting day everyone! (Of course, if you don't vote, I'm not judging you. Your choice.)

Thank you for that.
You don't know how many disgusted or disappointed people I have had to try to explain my viewpoint of voting to. . . unsuccessfully.

I don't vote in national elections because I feel like nothing is going to change and my vote doesn't really count - none of the options are viable and the only politicians that can win are those that are vested in keeping the status quo - if someone else wins by some feat of dumb luck, they won't be able to change it in sea full of politicians who benefit from the status quo.
All real social change in this country has happened because people took to the streets, and when they did, en masse, it didn't matter if it was FDR, Eisenhower, Johnson or Nixon, or whoever - we got labor laws (includinf child labor laws), women's suffrage, civil rights, out of the Vietnam War and hopefully one day soon, protected civil rights for homosexuals.
I will vote in some local elections - particular for/against paticular initiatives - but not for people. Elected people don't do shit.
