A swiftly tilting planet

And I was just saying to myself, I should write her a letter."A Wrinkle in Time" has popped up in conversation again and again these past couple months, so after an appointment with my dentist yesterday, I finally stopped into the library to pick it up for a re-read. Lying in bed last night, reading those first few chapters again, it struck me how ( Read more... )

Me, too.

There is a recording of her reading _A Wrinkle in Time_ I got out once at the library.

Her voice is exactly as she described Mrs. Whatsit's voice.

I'll have to look for that now!

Hmmm.
It's weird how personal this all feels. I think you said it much better in your post.

We read A Wrinkle in Time lately for lost_bookclub. I hadn't read it when I was younger, so it was interesting coming into it with an adult perspective. Interesting concept, story.

It's weird reading it as an adult, because the language seems very simple (in a way that would indicate it was intended for younger readers) but some of the ideas are pretty complex (indicating it was meant for older readers.) I think that's kind of nice, in a way. I have no idea what I'd think of it now if I hadn't read it as a child, though. When was it referenced in LOST?

Remember when you gave me the booklet of your comic? How did you get that in that form? You did it yourself, or you just gave it to Kinko's and said, "do it."

I did it myself. Years of working at the college copy shop have finally paid off! Honestly, it's not that hard. Just scan or copy all your original artwork down to 1/2 letter size, then make an "original" book by pasting the pages in order. Lay the pages on the glass and copy. Voila! I don't trust the guys behind the counter not to put the pages in all the wrong order. Maybe I'm just paranoid that way. :) Are you putting something together?

I'm pretty sure I did! I've been following your posts anyway, and things are looking good.
Are you thinking of doing a convention?

Oddly, that book cropped up in front of me two or three times this month, too.
