Did you go over there with a company? If so the company would have records...

Yeah, the hosting was arranged through ISE. Thanks! :-) I've just sent an email to the company.

http://www.infobel.com/france/ looks like it might possibly be useful. I tried it on someone who used to live in our village and moved to France, and it did come back with two names. I don't actually know where they live so it might not be them; still worth a try anyway :)

Thanks! I did get matches on two of the names (Michel and Cyril), but the addresses are both a bit northwest of Paris. They're from Vitrolles, which is down by Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. Hm... I wouldn't be all that surprised if that was them though. Last time I heard, Michel was working for a train line up in Paris, and had to go back and forth every day. They might've decided to move... and it seems especially plausible since the addresses are so close to each other. The family's very close.

If I don't find anything else, I may write letters to both. I'd feel weird writing to them when I don't even know if it is them, but it'd be worth a try.

I think you definitely should write letters to them anyway, and I don't think you should feel weird. If someone randomly sent you a letter saying they were looking for their long lost friend and it wasn't you then I don't think you could possibly mind :)
