Cedric peered over the edge of the basinet, studying the baby’s silver-blue eyes as they peered back into his own. He dangled a chubby little hand over the side of the basinet, giggling as the baby girl grabbed onto one of his fingers and shoved it in her mouth.
“Cedric, this is Luna,” Amos said, kneeling down next to his son. “She’s our new neighbor.”
“She’s so tiny,” Cedric said, his voice full of awe and wonder. “She looks like one of Mummy’s china dolls.”
“She’s just as fragile, too, so remember to play gently with her.”
“I promise, Daddy.”
