Neither of them slept soundly anymore. He’d given up trying a month before. He’d just spend the hours staring at the ceiling, waiting for the signs. Her breathing would quicken. She’d start to sweat. Her wand hand would clench and unclench before she’d start to thrash. Left first, then right. Always.
“RON!”
The last part broke his heart. She always screamed the same thing. No matter what the dream she would relate afterwards. Draco shifted, wrapping his arms around Hermione as she sobbed, collapsing against his chest, “Gone... They’re all gone.”
“No, Hermione. You still have me. You have me.”
