Oh, love! This is so beautiful! I've been staring at the photos for ages now, trying to organise my thoughts. I don't think I can - everything in my mind is just going: "Oh!" and then upon another stunning sentence: "Oh, oh!"

I've actually been rewriting the same faerytale for near on 30 years. It's the story I wish I would have had as a young gay girl. Do you think it would be okay if I shared snippets of it here, with only my flist? ❤️

Oh I think it would be brilliant! A few friends have shared original things in the pAst - mostly short pieces but it is always extremely special to see what comes out of someone's mind. The intricate lines of their thoughts, how they weave them together... We would be lucky indeed! You can also post it to a filtered flist too - just in case it's extra personal.

(Also -- what you can do on gift fest sign up, if you are comfortable signing up, is mention that your preference is to write a shorter story. I have that on mine [that I can only submit a one shot] and that way, the mods will see that when matching you with someone and you won't need to worry about length.)

Oh Toods! Thank you for the vote of confidence!! I don't really understand how the fest works. I read about it, but wasn't sure about some of the terminology, like "pinch hitting" (I think that's what I read)...I think it would be equal parts terrifying and thrilling! 💙

So… First off, let me just reassure you that you would have GOBS of us volunteering to chat with you about plots or settings, possibly serving as beta readers as well to help polish up your fic.

Essentially, how the fest works is one big loop of gift giving. Everybody writes up their preferences and prompts, and then the mods will assign somebody's prompts to YOU. You make them a gift based on their prompts. In the meanwhile, someone else has been given YOUR prompts and is busy making YOU a gift. When the posting begins, everyone gives a gift and everyone receives a gift. (Pinch hitters are just in case someone can't finish their gift, and the giftee still needs someone to make their present.)

So… would you like to try your hand at writing a story, or coming up with beautiful arty photography that would be a gift for someone? If so, SIGN UP!
